It provides control of listed of  weeds that infest rice. It behaves selectively, by postemergent contact to the emerged weeds. This product is a Group 2 herbicide which works by inhibiting the ALS (Acetolactate Synthase) enzyme in the weeds.

Pretilachlor 50% EC is a pre-emergency broad spectrum and selective herbicide for transplanted rice. It is applied before emergency of weeds, within 0-4 days of transplanting. It controls almost all the weeds (annual grasses, Sedges and broad-leaved weeds) in rice.
